Job Opportunity: Administrative Assistant to Executive Director and the Board of Directors

Physicians for Social Responsibility -Arizona Chapter (PSR-AZ) is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant to Executive Director and the Board of Directors. This would be a part time (25%) contracted position to support and  advocate on issues important to the chapter. Applicant must reside locally and possess computer skills in social media, data base and spreadsheet use.  The duties of this job are the following:

  1. Assist to increase and develop dues-paying membership while maintaining diversity and inclusion;
  2. Clean up existing membership list by contacting locally listed and integrating with National;
  3. Post regular updates on PSR chapter FB page and develop other social media;
  4. Update Arizona website with articles on PSR National website;
  5. Assist with Quarterly newsletter publication (work with contributors’ articles);
  6. Assist with grants; seeking opportunities and writing proposals;
  7. Assist and organize local fundraising events and promotions (please provide prior fundraising experience);
  8. Organize and coordinate local events, as requested by the Board or the Executive Director;
  9. Attend Board meetings;
  10. Partner, collaborate on events with local groups and occasionally some institutions, schools, colleges,(ex. Sustainable Tucson, Sierra Club, and UA’s College of Public Health and/or Institute of the Environment);
  11. Assist board members to write letters to the editor (LTE’s) and Opinion Editorials using National PSR templates and mutually agreed upon topics;
  12. Assist in setting up and organizing congressional and State representative meetings within Tucson
